Estate Evaluations

With the ever increasing aging population, the burden on families to decide what to do with personal property and real estate has never been more evident. And where to turn? With Real Estate prices soaring and homes selling in a very short period of time, families are faced with the hard decision what to do with the personal effects of an estate. Who can you trust, will we receive a fair price, are the contents worth anything, what is trash and what is treasure? These are all questions which are being faced with estate situations everywhere.
Just recently I met with a family to discuss these very questions and with less time in our busy lives they needed answers today not 2 weeks from today. Our experience in Estate Appraisal and Dispersion will benefit you and your family when faced with this difficult decision. I take the time to discuss your needs and assist in making the right decision to benefit your situation with compassion. I look forward to working with you and arrive at a solution that will put your mind at ease during this process.

My father in law is in a long term care facility and sold his house. Contents need to be gone in 2 weeks. Any ideas of where to turn or cost would be appreciated.

Good evening Liz and thank you for contacting us. I would need a few details for us to proceed with a plan. Is it his original home? How old are the contents? How long since he has lived in the home? Has the family taken steps to box up and or dispose of unwanted items? These are just a few of the questions that need to be answered. As per cost, without seeing it is difficult to predict, however you probably incur packing, sorting, labeling, moving and storage costs with only a two week period to work with. My best suggestion if you have the help is to pack and remove, dispose of the things that are not salable and store somewhere until such time as we can sell it for you if that's what you are opting for. I would be happy to take a look and advise you what the best way to proceed will be. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your options. Kindest regards, Lorne
